
The Winter fire, the Toolbox Fire (combined) near Paisley and Summer Lake and the Silver Fire near Silver Lake. As of 8:02 PM on Tuesday, July 23, they totaled over 105,000 acres. The difficult wind and terrain, as well as the amount of shrubs and trees, added to the problems of containing this fire. Hwy. 31 closed during all times fire was overlapping to the east, which had been most afternoons. See the Fire Update for detailed information. The north end extended nearly to Picture Rock Pass and the south end is approximately 10 miles for the City of Paisley. A voluntary request for evacuation was called for the Ana Reservoir area near Summer Lake. NO CITY EVACUATION OF PAISLEY HAD BEEN REQUESTED. Also, many FALSE rumors were spread. Please check for hard data before believing everything you read or hear.Firefighters were able to hold the south end of the fire, while the north end of the fire did merge with the Tool Box Fire.

Crews were temporarily pulled off the fire line in that area until the fire behavior moderated. The good news is that the thunderstorms brought a drenching rain that has cooled much of the fire overnight. A small spot-fire nearly 1000 feet outside the fire-line grew into a 10-acre hard-running fire yesterday. It was only with retardant drops, bucket drops, dozers, and hand crews that the firefighters were able to stop it from growing larger.
