Kick off Dinner (BBQ Tri-Tip) - Community Center at 5:00 P.M. on June 15.
Three breakfasts, three lunches and an all you can eat Spaghetti Feed will be included!

Registration is limited to the first 24, three person teams, so register early!



Attention: Event will be limited to ONLY 24 teams!
This will test the skills of the fisher as everyone will be fishing in three seperate and unique sections of the beautiful Chewaucan River. One area is around bolders with small pockets and runs. The next will be flat dispersed with large holding water. The third will be small spring creeks.

Additional perks and prizes will be announced as sponsors chip in and donate various items.

Note: this is a catch and release tournament.

2008 Chewaucan Challenge:
There will be an early morning orientation every morning from 4:30 until 6:00 A.M., to describe rotation of areas for teams and to hand out our daily score cards.
Lodging must be obtained by the teams. (Paisley Dorm, Paisley Sage Rooms, Summer Lake Lodge, Summer Lake Inn, etc.) RV camping is available both with hookups in town or dry camping at the Paisley Airport, (free) 2/3 mile from the Community Center.
Fishing can be done anytime between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. Team score cards must be handed in by 7:00 P.M. each day.
Every fish is immediately scored by monitor and immediately released.

  • SCORING:
  • Fish 4-8" = one point.
  • Fish 8"-10" = two points.
  • Fish 10-12" = three points.
  • Bonus points for 12-14" = four points, 14-16" = 5 points and six points for over 16"

    We are NOT looking for the biggest fish, but the best fishermen. Three days was established because "anyone can get lucky one day."

    The winning team will receive a replica of the "Perpetual Trophy" that will stay on display in Paisley for all visitors to see. There will be a cash pool with the amount determined depending upon expenses. There will also be "Place" prizes.


  • Location:
    This event will be held in the Rustic Chewaucan River, flowing down from the Fremont National Forest through the center of the small city of Paisley, Oregon. From Bend, Oregon, go south to La Pine on Hwy 97. One mile south of La Pine, turn left (east) on OR 31. Go to mile marker 98 and you are in Paisley. map









    Paisley is located in a rural, quiet and beautiful areas with a wide variety of geology and lakes. There are a number of interesting things to do in and around the area.
