The Grand Opening and Celebration Fly-In, Air Show & Festival was a huge success.
Formal Opening Ceremonies were held at 9 am on Saturday. Commissioners from Lake County and Ann Crook the Director of Aviation for the State of Oregon were present as Mr. J. R. Simplot, owner of the local ZX Ranch cut the ribbon for the new runway.

Ms. Crook also presented the deed to the Paisley Airport to County Commissioner Bill Berry.
An Air Show featuring Tom Ellsburg flying his "One Design" acrobatic aircraft highlighted the Mosquito Festival.
In addition, we had a AT-6G Texan offering rides from the airport. Many folks who wanted to fly like a WWII pilot, had their chance. .

Many general aviation aircraft joined our fly-in. Festival. Awards were presented to several class of planes flying in. The Central Oregon Retired Officers Association, consisting mostly of retired military pilots, made the selections. The winners were; Best of Show: T-6 (Shown above)
Best Civilian: Maule Jack Rock of Forest Grove, Oregon.
People Choice: Beech A45, Bruce Lamont Eugene, Oregon.
Best Military: T-34 Clifford Jensen, Salem, Oregon.
Special: Waco , Kenneth Gooch, Klamath Falls, Oregon
Our runway ownership has been transferred from the state to Lake County. The runway is now officially open for general aviation. It will be maintained during most weather by the local ZX Ranch for their own King Air(s) Citations and transit GA aircraft.
We will remain "uncontrolled." Look for the wind sock on the south west end of the runway by the parking area. During strong winds from the west, watch for gusts throughout the approach, landing and take-off. Calm wind landings will be using left pattern to runway 13, approaching and final toward (and north of) the City of Paisley. Winds from the north, use right pattern to runway 31. Our town welcomes pilots and general aviation aircraft!
We are 14 miles on Radial 330 from the Lakeview VOR 112.0. On approach from the south (Lakeview) keep the ridge line and VOR a mile or two off your left wing. Call in ten miles out on 122.9 and follow the valley. Overfly the City of Paisley then the airport to check the wind sock. The huge Summer Lake valley lies to the north, so plenty of flat land to circle around for landing.
Approaching from the north, stay to the east of Summer Lake and follow LKV VOR R330 on 112.0. Just before you are over the City of Paisley, you will be over the airport.
First jet (Citation) to land at Paisley.
Busy parking area during the Festival.
Powered Parachutes joined the Festival and overflew the Grand Parade.
