Parish Nurse Program provides: To the congregation; Provide wellness education to various age groups, as needed. Advise members on health care at their invitation. Inform members about community social services and health-care agencies. To the pastor; Receives referrals to make health assessments of selected members. Assesses physical, mental, emotional and spiritual states of members indicated. Introduces wellness programs in support of the pastor's stewardship ministry Serves as team member with the pastor to effect ministry to the whole person. To the community; Collaborates with community health care services by offering supportive congregational human-care services to the community. Initiates congregational response to provide food, shelter and health needs to the community during a crisis. She provides blood pressure screening and weighing during the Senior Meals every two weeks.
