Road
Closures: Remain in
effect within fire area. Road 28 will reopen today, but vehicles are restricted
to the paved road. Highway 31 is opened.
Areas of unburned fuel
continue to burn in the interior of both fires. Yesterday there was a lot of
smoke from a section south of Dead Indian Mountain. There were only a few
smokes in the Silver Fire. The Lava Fire is being monitored daily, and
yesterday showed only a couple of small smokes.
The Great Basin Incident
Management Team under Incident Commander Paul Hefner will transition with
California Incident Management Team 4 today. This team will be managing the
Toolbox Complex and the Winter Fire. The Incident Command Post for the complex,
which will include the Winter Fire, will be at the North Lake School, but a
smaller camp will remain at the school in Paisley. Information on the fires
will be available at (541) 567-2654. The Winter Fire information center will
close tomorrow.
